Special Education Manager Job Description / Activities:

Liasion between First Nations schools and INAC
-
Collect Special Education documentation from First Nation schools to review and submit to INAC for Special Education funding purposes
-
Providing training to First Nations schools in areas of requested need
-
Provide information, support and resources to First Nations schools
-
Distribute INAC guidelines, allocations, documents to First Nations schools
-
Participate in development of Special Education Funding Guidelines
-
Keep current issues pertaining to Special Eduction and First Nations Education
-
Coordinate a New Teachers (Administrators) Orientation
-
Provide support to teachers for the development of Individual Education (Program) Plans (IEPs or IPPs)
-
Coordinate Special Education Sharing Days
-
Coordinate visits to each of the schools in the Treaty No.6 area to provide support, determine areas of need, distribute information
-
Develop proposals for funding in areas of need
-
Develop and provide guidelines and Special Education policies and procedures template for Treaty 6 schools
-
Develop Yearly Workplan and Budget
-
Completion of RMO Roll-Up Report for INAC in May 2008
-
Completion of Year End Budget Report for Special Education funding for the RMO in May 2008
